Thanks to our luxurious tour schedule, there was a slight buffer to figure things out. The latest news from the perspective of a lowly cellist minion: Wen's application for an emergency visa (nomenclature my own) was accepted, but will the paperwork arrive on time for a concert at the Esplanade tomorrow (Sunday) evening? Some developments over the past hours (e.g. according to my roommate, a continuous absence from facebook of unprecedented duration) indicate that she might be on her way, but no denouement has been confirmed yet. This is to say, when Wen might get here is unclear. A back-up emergency plan involves a bassist from Bach Collegium Japan, but hopefully it will not come to that (or perhaps we will play with two basses?!).
Thanks to all parties involved in keeping cool and helping Wen make her way over here after all! Updates in form of a comment to this blog very welcome!
Wen, we miss you!
Stay tuned for impressions from Singapore! (But don't expect too much – no words would do it justice...)
